Animal Crossing Turnips Guide - How To Buy & Sell Turnips In New Horizons
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players need to earn lots of acnh bells to pay off their debts to Tom Nook and make larger infrastructure improvements around town. Usually, people make money selling fruit, bugs, fish, and various random items, but they all pale in comparison to Turnips. Buying and selling turnips is the only option if you want to get rich quickly on the island and build the house of your dreams.
Turnips are special items in the Animal Crossing series. They can only be bought on Sundays and will rot if you don't sell them within a week. Their prices fluctuate, just like the stock market, so you can lose money or make money depending on when you sell them.
How To Buy Turnips In Animal Crossing New Horizons
Turnips in Animal Crossing run on a weekly cycle. Every Sunday after you unlock Nook's Cranny, between 5 am and 12 pm, a cute boar named Daisy Mae will appear around your town square. Daisy Mae will sell her turnips for a random price, between 90 and 110 Bells (we recommend buying Turnips when the price is below 100 Bells).
There is no limit to the number of Turnips a player can buy, as long as you have enough money. Whether they can profit from those turnips depends on how the Stalk Market performs that week. Every day (excluding Sundays), Timmy and Tommy at Nook's Cranny will tell you the current price of turnips, which change every day at midnight and at noon.
How to Sell Turnips In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Players can sell turnips to Timmy and Tommy at Nook's Cranny every day (except Sundays). We have to sell all turnips by next Sunday, and if a player still has turnips on Sunday morning, any turnips purchased the previous week will rot.
In the Stalk Market, turnips are sold at prices that vary widely, from as low as 9 bells to as high as 660 bells. Generally, anything over 200 bells per turnip is good, but on a good week, you can see prices of 300 and 400, and even as high as 600 in rare cases. Conversely, on a bad week, you might have to sell those turnips for slightly more than you paid for them, or even lose money.
Timmy and Tommy change prices twice a day. The first price will be available from open until noon, and the second will be available between noon and 10 pm. Players should study these prices carefully and choose the best time to sell Turnips for maximum profit. The trick is to make sure you sell your turnips for more than you paid for them.
It's worth noting that changing the clock to time travel in Animal Crossing: New Horizons has no effect on Turnip prices, and going backwards in time will rot any purchased Turnip.
